UPDATED: The hi-tea cake buffet promo has ended. (Sep'10)

** The Patisserie **

The cake shop is conveniently located at the lobby floor of the hotel but they seem to have very limited tables. 3 to be exact, on the day of our visit.
Le Boulanger's signage Located on the lobby floor. small selections of pastries and croissants. but more than 30 choices of sliced cakes. Hi Tea Cake buffet. 1200 - 1700. Baht 199++. (235 nett). Hotel Lotus by Accor

** Cakes, cakes & more cakes ... **

A standard slice of cake costs THB80 and THB30 for each of the mini tarts.
Blueberry cheese cake Mocca cream cake Choc brownie cake Banana cheese cake Kiwi yoghurt cake Choc fudge Alexandra cake Macadamia cheese Orange cake mini tarts

** Our picks **

Lovely mini tarts Choc cheese cake Banana cheese cake ** recommended ** Blueberry cheese cake Choc fudge cake White choc strawberry cake The pasta is free too!

Table for 2: The cake buffet costs THB199 per head before the addition of 7% VAT or THB235 nett (i.e. less than SGD10). The price includes unlimited servings of cakes, pastries and drinks. It also comes with 1 serving of pasta for the 2 paying customers. This was what the chef said to the bf which we find it strange. Anyway, we were not there for the pasta.

My verdict:
+ Wide selection of cakes & pastries
+ Value for money
- Limited tables

Details:
Restaurant: Le Boulanger, Hotel Lotus Sukhumvit
Buffet timing: It runs daily from noon to 5pm.
Cost: THB199++ (before 7% VAT)
Remarks: Kindly call them or check their web site to validate if this promotion is still ongoing. We had the buffet last month, July 2010 and last checked, the promotion has been extended to August 2010.

Getting there ...
Hotel Lotus Sukhumvit is about 10 minutes walk away from Phrom Phong BTS station.

About THAIoholic

THAIoholic, the blog, is setup with the initial intention of keepsake. As time goes by, I find it harder and harder for my gray cells (of what left) to remember traces of great places we have been to, good foods we savored but missed, details that I should remember but they slipped away unknowingly.

Then, we have also friends and folks asking little details I thought I should blog them here, because my pea brain is simply no good at recollections.

My partner is a devoted Buddhist, his religion forbids him, and therefore me, from taking beef. As such, it's unlikely that there will be any info about beef dish found in this blog.

About BODYholic

moo and kratai BODYholic, also known affectionately as moo ooan (a.k.a fat pig) by his little kratai noi (a.k.a little rabbit), has intense interests in Thai foods, traditional Thai architecture, coffee and cheesecakes. I've to add that I'm not a prolific blogger.
