The restaurant ...
Usually after a consecutive days of heavy foods like the gaeng, yams and som-tum, MK Suki is always a good alternative for us. The Thai steamboat restaurant offers an extensive selection of greens. I love veg since I was young and it helps to balance my diet especially when I am in Bangkok, one of the many food paradise.
The place we patronized this time was one located right in the heart of the trendy Siam Square. And MK Suki ingeniously created a new flagship called Trendi to serve its young and hippie community in that area. The funky decor at the ground floor was a head-turner. However, we soon found out that the rest of the levels were gloomy and uninspiring. I guessed that's how they keep their prices friendly.
The neon signboard outside MK Trendi. The ground floor decor is bright and, as the name suggest, trendy. However, it is kinda small at this level.
We were assigned to a table on the ground floor. Our table setting. The upper floor looked gloomy and .... old! Unfortunately the "trendi" stops at ground floor. The 4 storey building looking from Soi 5.

Our order ...
We had lots of greens. Interestingly, after making payment at the end of our dinner, we were presented with a small printed slip that gave a breakdown of nutrition values of what we ate. It was a pity that everything was in Thai script.
PS: I didn't order the roasty stuffs. The bf did. I was gamed for a full veg dinner but not him. 555+
Boiling stock. The dipping source has a strange taste. The bf preparing the egg for the stock. Green spinach noodles at the background. You definitely need this since the table is so pathetically small. Greens ... more greens ... Japanese beancurd Wholesome Chinese mushrooms Sushi rolls. Meat balls Fresh squids with fillings. Crispy roasties. A pot full of wholesome goodness *slurp*

Table for 2: THB653 (SGD29.04) for at least 10 steamboat platters, a serving of roast pork and duck, spinach noodles/ steamed rice and 2 cold green tea.

My verdict:
+ Cheap
+ Cheap (in case you missed the first line)
+ Fast and responsive services
- Nothing trendy above the ground floor.

Getting there ...
Walking distance from Siam BTS station. MK Trendi stands at the corner where Rama I and Siam Square Soi 5 intercept.

About THAIoholic

THAIoholic, the blog, is setup with the initial intention of keepsake. As time goes by, I find it harder and harder for my gray cells (of what left) to remember traces of great places we have been to, good foods we savored but missed, details that I should remember but they slipped away unknowingly.

Then, we have also friends and folks asking little details I thought I should blog them here, because my pea brain is simply no good at recollections.

My partner is a devoted Buddhist, his religion forbids him, and therefore me, from taking beef. As such, it's unlikely that there will be any info about beef dish found in this blog.

About BODYholic

moo and kratai BODYholic, also known affectionately as moo ooan (a.k.a fat pig) by his little kratai noi (a.k.a little rabbit), has intense interests in Thai foods, traditional Thai architecture, coffee and cheesecakes. I've to add that I'm not a prolific blogger.
